The Challenge
To acquire knowledge about the performance of a sample of interventions managed by the EUD in Brazil and draw lessons for future interventions in the sectors of civil society support and human rights, as well as in cross-cutting aspects related to gender equality, communication, and visibility.

Our work and approach
The report analyzed 13 monitoring reports from EU interventions, including 8 in civil society, 3 in human rights, and 2 in environment and food security and additionally 16 logical frameworks of EU interventions, with a total of 278 indicators—14% impact, 29% outcome, and 57% output level.

Results and Insights
Compilation of fourteen lessons learned and actionable recommendations for the EUD in Brazil on how to promote actions to defend and spread human rights in the country, focusing on vulnerable groups, including LGTBI people and people with disabilities; on how to actively promote synergies and complementarities between interventions; how to foster and strengthen gender analyses in the funded interventions and how to strategically communicate for social change.
