To contribute to more effective monitoring of future programs in the food security and nutrition sector in Haiti.
Our work and approach
The report analyzed the Multisectoral Programme for Food Security and Nutrition (PMSAN) in Haiti, a key EU initiative. It consists of two main components: Governance strengthening at national and departmental levels (Component 1) and development of basic services for vulnerable populations in Northwest and Upper Artibonite (Component 2). Implemented through eight contracts, including a Program Document and Technical Assistance for Component 1, and six NGO-led projects for Component 2 covering agriculture, social protection, health, and nutrition. The analysis utilized literature review and interviews with EUD personnel.
Results and Insights
Evidence-based recommendations for EU-managed Security and Nutrition (SAN) interventions in Haiti focusing on integrated development program design, institutional anchoring, duration considerations, leadership and peripheral skills, human resources, and EU commitment to multisectoral SAN governance in the country.
