To analyse the overall contribution of six EU funded interventions towards the EU’s cooperation priorities for Iran and increasing EU's understanding on the challenges related to the remote management of the Iran file.
Our work and approach
The report addresses a request from the Commission (DG INTPA C01) to focus on the adequacy of management arrangements given the EU's lack of a permanent presence in Iran and challenges of remote management; the level of engagement between interventions/implementing partners and Iranian authorities; the added value of EU interventions in the current context and the visibility of EU-funded interventions in Iran and whether they are presented as EU projects.
Results and Insights
Analysis suggested to allow interventions that add real value to complete within their contractual duration or with a small no-cost extension based on justified requests, without changing existing terms, except for necessary budget reallocations.
