Increased understanding of the EUD to Afghanistan of the current state of progress of the health portfolio and possible forward-looking perspectives into future measures in the sector.
Our work and approach
This consolidated report on the EU funded COVID-19 response was produced following a request of the EU Delegation (EUD) to Afghanistan for an extended analysis to complement the findings, conclusions and recommendations raised by the ROM reviews (May to July 2023) of three health sector interventions in Afghanistan. In order to foster a coherent approach among donors in the current context of severe restrictions on the rights of women and girls, the EU adheres to the “Guiding principles and donors’ expectations” on humanitarian assistance and thereafter the “Complementary principles and considerations for Afghanistan Coordination Group (ACG) donors” for Basic Needs and Livelihoods in Afghanistan.
Results and Insights
The analysis provided eight evidence-based findings on the Design of the EU-funded interventions; their implementation and best practices to move forward.
